INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF TIMEDSURGERYThe International Society of Timedsurgery (I.S.T.S.) is a scientific association dedicated to the research, teaching and application of timedsurgery (Technique for the Implementation of Measured Electrosurgical Data) in dermatology, plastic and aesthetic surgery and other surgical fields. It hosts a Forum to exchange scientific information and to publicise the latest developments in timedsurgery or the most interesting clinical cases reported by members. We are convinced that timedsurgery is a useful tool in clinical
practice and that it can profitably replace more costly and less
versatile physical methods in the fields of dermatology, plastic and
aesthetic surgery, etc. The International Society of Timedsurgery wishes institutionally to compare the operational possibilities, results and procedures of timedsurgery with those of laser technology and of other physical techniques. Our aim is to demonstrate that in dermatology and plastic surgery high-frequency currents are more versatile and efficacious than light rays, which, by their very nature, travel in a straight line and offer no possibility of mechanical association. We therefore feel that the current view of laser technology held by the mass media and by some of our colleagues should be revised. At the same time, we wish to identify those specific pathologies in which the use of the laser may be more appropriate. Indeed, we are well aware that both the laser and the Timed apparatus are merely instruments at our disposal, rather than the other way round. The I.S.T.S uses only this web-site to up-date and propagate new, standardised operating techniques. Created in 2005, the site also deals with other procedures drawn up by the CRG (Capurro Research Group) and other members to complement timedsurgery. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSAssociate members are all those who perform timedsurgery. Those wishing to subscribe must fill in and send the form. Subscription entitles members to participate in the forum, to receive our video illustrating the procedures and to publish reports of any significant or unusual cases they may have. ORDINARY MEMBERSOrdinary members are those who have contributed to the Association through innovation or improvement of the timedsurgery techniques, or who publish on the web-site clinical cases involving the use of timedsurgery or clinical cases involving other techniques that could have been treated by means of timedsurgery. ORGANISATION OF THE SOCIETYIn the organisation of the society, the positions held by the ordinary members depend on the creative contribution made by each individual member. |
